Quilting dilemma!

So there still aren’t pictures or a video, but I don’t want to pressure Bryon into posting them… So I am patiently waiting… I hope it isn’t much longer!

Yesterday I went to Joann’s to use my newest 40% off coupon to buy a baby quilting book and to buy fabric during the Memorial Day sale. After stopping at the remnant bin I wandered over to the quilting section to look for the book. I quickly learned
that they were sold out of the book I needed! I had previously done my research on my books of interest and determined the cheapest way to get this one was by using a 40% off coupon at Joann’s.

I am unable to describe the sudden bleakness when I realized I had to buy fabric and I had no idea how much I need. Although I have made a fair number of quilts, I have never made a baby quilt, let alone crib bedding. I was lost! After looking in the craft section at Borders I found a pretty agreeable substitute for the time being. This book is actually great! It has everything from clothes down to the nursery items. There is even a pattern for how to make a swaddle wrap and booties! I love almost all the projects… except the quilt. I still need the quilt book from Joann’s to make the baby quilts I have been dreaming of. The issue is that when you have a big project you want to buy all of the main fabric at once. I learned this lesson the hard way.

Although, I was hoping to start in my comfort zone of quilting, so I don’t get frustrated with the patters right away, I guess I can start with items that are not for the nursery. I bought a pattern for a nursing cover, so I will probably start there this week. I will let you guys know how things turn out!
